I find it an odd phenomenon that we smile in photos. The common practice of lining up in a half circle, arms around each other, gritting out teeth and counting 1-2-3. When it was first invented, photographs were portraits, and were meant to catalog a person’s face. Now, they’re meant to create memories. We want our portraits to be accurate, but our memories to be happy. Even to the point of fabrication.
